Baby food!

Yes, it all started with grocery store baby food. I found that store-bought baby food, even expensive “organic” baby food, is pasteurized (cooked at high heat) to kill bacteria, and in the process, cooks away all the nutrients, vitamins, and fiber growing babies need.

After pasteurization, chemical versions of vitamins and minerals, flavors, and fiber are added back to the baby food, along with sodium and preservatives.

This process is used in commercial kitchens, grocery store bakeries, and manufacturing plants.

Table salt, preservatives, and other additives keep food looking “fresh” while it sits on a shelf for up to 3 years. Once I learned what was in baby food, I knew I couldn’t feed it to my children. So I started making baby food from scratch, building a recipe book for my children, along with healthy foods and desserts.

With time, my recipe book grew, and I knew it was time to start my micro-bakery, Tasty Treats.

At Tasty Treats, we make a wide range of foods and desserts, all made with whole ingredients and fresh produce, without any added preservatives or dyes.
